The Shenandoah & Civil War Tour heads directly for Harper's Ferry 50 miles West and is especially recommended during the fall change of colors.  Before joining the Potomac River, the airplane transits to Historic Harper's Ferry past reservoirs, lakes, and the Sugarloaf Mountain, all within view of the Washington metro area skyline.  From Harper's Ferry, the tour can follow one of two recommended paths: The first follows the Shenandoah River along the west slopes of Shenandoah National Park and the Shenandoah Mountains, over Front Royal.  The second route, which is Civil War themed, proceeds ten miles North to overfly the Antietam National Battlefield, and then along the west slopes of the Catoctin Mountains, around restricted Camp David airspace, to the Gettysburg National Military Park.  At your option the airplane may land allowing you to visit the battlefield park which is two miles away.  As with all of our tours, the airplane will not circle any lower than 2000 feet over any park or refuge.
